Asia Complete – vaccination package with two medical consultations, including a consultation with a travel medicine doctor
A supplementary health protection package for travellers to tropical countries such as Thailand and India (who have already had their basic vaccinations), including a basic vaccination course for rabies and Japanese encephalitis, along with two additional medical consultations for just PLN 1 each one (included in the price of the package).
The price includes all fees
The "Asia Complete – vaccination package with two medical consultations, including a consultation with a travel medicine doctor" package includes, among others:
Package COMPLETE is designed for travellers planning trips off the beaten path – particularly to regions in Asia, including Thailand, India, and other countries where the risk of tropical (mosquito-borne) and zoonotic diseases is higher. The vaccinations included in the package – against rabies and Japanese encephalitis – are especially recommended for travellers who are planning:
- extended stays;
- volunteer work or employment involving local communities;
- trips to rural or agricultural regions;
- outdoor activities such as trekking, camping, or nature exploration;
- overnight stays in field conditions or accommodations without air conditioning or mosquito nets.
The package includes:
- 2 doses of the rabies vaccine – especially important for travellers who may come into contact with animals, go trekking, camp overnight in tents, or visit rural areas where access to post-exposure treatment may be limited;
- 2 doses of the Japanese encephalitis vaccine – a mosquito-borne disease endemic to agricultural regions, which can lead to serious neurological complications;
- 2 vaccination qualification appointments for just PLN 1 (included in the price of the package):
- consultation with a travel medicine doctor – during this appointment, you will receive personalized recommendations on vaccinations and health precautions based on your destination and travel plans. The doctor will also advise you on assembling a travel first aid kit and may prescribe anti-malarial medication if needed;
- additional medical qualification (by a doctor or nurse) – required before administering the second dose of the rabies and Japanese encephalitis vaccines.
Rabies
Rabies vaccination is recommended for travellers visiting various regions of Asia, Africa, and South America, including: Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia (including Bali), China, Philippines, Tanzania, Kenya, Brazil, Peru, Morocco.
In these countries, the risk of contact with infected animals (such as dogs, monkeys, and bats) is higher, and access to prompt post-exposure medical care may be limited. For this reason, vaccination is especially important for children and for travellers venturing far from major cities. Typically, two doses of the vaccine are sufficient for most people. However, in certain cases – such as individuals with weakened immune systems – a third dose may be required before travel.
Japanese encephalitis
Vaccination against Japanese encephalitis is recommended for travellers planning to visit countries in East and Southeast Asia where the disease is endemic—particularly in rural areas, during the rainy season, and especially for longer stays (≥ 1 month). It is also advised for those engaging in volunteer work, fieldwork, or camping.
This includes the following countries: China (southern and eastern regions), Nepal (especially the Terai region), Bangladesh, India (especially Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Assam), Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand (rural areas in the north and east), Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Myanmar (Burma).
Although Japanese encephalitis is rare among travellers, it can lead to severe (even fatal) or long-term neurological complications. The decision to get vaccinated should be made in consultation with a travel medicine doctor.
Why choose Package COMPLETE?
- Protect your health - vaccination against rabies and Japanese encephalitis is a smart investment in your safety and well-being while traveling. These diseases can cause serious neurological complications, require long-term treatment, or even be life-threatening. Vaccines significantly reduce the risks associated with unexpected animal encounters or mosquito bite.
- Peace of mind during your trip - the package includes two doses of each vaccine – against rabies and Japanese encephalitis – helping you travel with less worry and more focus on enjoying your trip, whether you're relaxing, sightseeing, or working abroad.
- Excellent choice for active travellers - planning to explore rural areas, forests, go trekking, or camp? Package COMPLETE is highly recommended. Outdoor activities increase your exposure to animals and mosquitoes – especially during the rainy season and warmer months.
- Save time and money - by purchasing this package, you will spend less than if you were to pay separately for each vaccine and consultation. Plus, it is all conveniently organized in one place, requiring just two visits to the medical facility.
- Automatic dose reminder - after your first vaccination, Medicover will send you a reminder for your next dose - ensuring you complete the full course and stay protected.
- Long-term protection - once the full vaccination course is complete, your immunity can last for several years – protecting you not only for your current trip, but for future travels as well.
We recommend starting your vaccinations 6 to 8 weeks before your trip.
In addition to getting vaccinated, it’s important to follow other key health precautions:
- Protect yourself from mosquito-borne diseases such as dengue fever, Zika virus, chikungunya, and malaria by using repellents, wearing protective clothing, and sleeping under mosquito nets
- Practice good hygiene and food safety:
- Drink only boiled water or beverages from factory-sealed containers;
- Brush your teeth using boiled or microbiologically treated water;
- Wash and disinfect your hands thoroughly before meals;
- Avoid raw fruits with peel, salads, raw or undercooked meat, and food from lower-grade street vendors;
- Be cautious with ice in drinks, especially if the source is unknown;
- If you experience stomach issues, consult a doctor – medications commonly used in Europe may be ineffective due to differences in bacterial flora;
- Avoid contact with animals to reduce the risk of rabies.
Vaccination will not be administered in the following cases:
- The patient has an acute infection with severe symptoms, a fever above 38.5 °C, or a flare-up of a chronic illness;
- The patient has previously experienced a severe allergic reaction to a vaccination;
- The patient has a known hypersensitivity to any component of the vaccine;
- The patient is still within the protective period of a prior vaccine with the same or similar immunological profile, and the doctor determines that a second dose is not necessary.
In such cases, the doctor will either postpone the vaccination until the symptoms subside or the patient’s health stabilizes, or withhold vaccination entirely if there are absolute contraindications.
