Urologists consult patients with diseases of the urogenital system in men and urinary tract in women (problems with kidneys, the prostate gland, testicles, the bladder, and phimosis).
During the consultation, a urologist:

- performs a physical examination (including, for example, in the case of women, a palpation/touch examination of the urethral outlet, the lower abdomen, and in the case of men, the testicles, as well as a per rectum/finger examination of the prostate gland through the anus),
- makes diagnoses,
- gives medical recommendations,
- prescribes medications,
- makes referrals for examinations, consultations, hospitalizations.
During the appointment, a urologist may also remove sutures and apply a dressing
