Medical cannabis therapy: eligibility appointment

Medical cannabis is increasingly being used in the treatment of various diseases. It can be used adjunctively in the treatment of severe and chronic pain of various aetiologies (refractory to conventional treatment), in neurological, gastrointestinal, psychiatric, rheumatological diseases, inflammatory skin conditions, palliative care.

Medicinal cannabis can also be used in elderly patients as a therapy to improve their quality of life. Medical cannabis treatment is a complementary therapy that can be included when primary treat-ment does not have the desired effect.

The therapy is available to patients over 25 years of age, suffering from ailments listed in the indications for medical cannabis treatment.

During the appointment, the doctor will conduct an interview to determine whether the condition is amenable to medical cannabis therapy and whether there are any contraindications to treatment. Depending on the reported problem, additional tests may be requested to extend the diagnosis, the course of therapy, methods of taking the drug and dosage will be discussed.

An eligibility appointment is not synonymous with receiving a prescription for medical cannabis. The decision to start the therapy is made by the doctor during the appointment.

Medical cannabis treatment is qualified by doctors who are experienced in providing such therapy.

Inpatient appointments allow for a holistic approach to the problems reported and the best possible management of medical cannabis therapy.

Eligibility appointments can be made online, in person at the CM registration desk or by telephone.

Prior to the appointment, please prepare:

• a completed qualification questionnaire (download)
• medical documentation,
• list of medications you are taking,
• current laboratory results (if any).

 

The consultation lasts 20 minutes. Please make sure to arrive 15 minutes before your appointment. The service can only be provided at the medical facility indicated at the time of purchase.

Indications for medical cannabis therapy include those refractory to conventional treatment:

Contraindications:

• unstable cardiovascular disease,
• arrhythmia,
• uncontrolled hypertension,
• pregnancy and breastfeeding,
• unstable mania,
• depression,
• schizophrenia,
• suicidal thoughts,
• alcohol and drug addiction,
• allergy to cannabis.

The medical cannabis treatment is not available for patients below 25 years of age.
