Classes are held on Sundays from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Jeannette Birth School, 2/33 Grupy AK Północ St., Warsaw (Mokotów district, near Czerniakowska St. and Polish Underground State Avenue).
The first aid course takes place on a separate day. Details will be provided in your order confirmation.
At the Medicover Hospital Birth School, we offer classes for women preparing for natural delivery as well as those planning to deliver via cesarean section. The classes led by our qualified staff cover topics related to childbirth, such as:
- stages of labor,
- the role of the future father in the delivery room,
- pain relief techniques,
- types of anesthesia used during childbirth,
- postpartum period – its physiology and hygiene (in the course dedicated to cesarean section, care of the surgical wound is also discussed).
Additionally, during weekend classes, Medicover Hospital midwives are happy to answer questions related to the postpartum period and newborn care. Topics include:
- breastfeeding (techniques and principles of breastfeeding, physiology of lactation, milk expression methods, etc.),
- newborn care – skin and umbilical cord hygiene, bathing, dressing, diapering,
- documentation and administrative matters to take care of after the baby is born,
- preparing the baby’s room.
The weekend meeting is a great opportunity to get to know the delivery ward midwives better – they will welcome you to our department and care for you throughout your stay in the hospital.
As Medicover has been actively promoting health prevention for years, our Birth School also includes a first aid course for infants. Thanks to this course, future parents can gain practical knowledge useful in emergency situations affecting their child’s health or life.
Classes are held in groups of up to 8 couples. Triage is required upon entry. Please bring extra socks and snacks (especially for pregnant women). Tea, coffee, and water are provided.
