The "Men’s Preventive Healthcare Premium" package includes, among others:
Men, just like women, should regularly monitor their health condition, even if they do not feel any symptoms. The more you put off important tests or ignore emerging symptoms, the more you should take care of your health and not neglect the warning signs from your organism.
The proposed preventive healthcare tests and examinations enable the diagnosis of many diseases at an early stage, before they become more advanced and difficult to treat. They can help detect diabetes, cardiovascular/thyroid/kidney/liver diseases and prostate cancer.
In addition, you will be tested for asymptomatic viral infections transmitted through blood and sexual contact, such as hepatitis B and C, which can lead to cirrhosis and cancer, as well as HIV infection, which, in the event of abnormal test results, will make it possible to start treatment earlier.
What is Premium Preventive Healthcare Package for Men?
This package is designed for men who want to take care of their health. Regular preventive tests and examinations are recommended regardless of the symptoms. This is particularly important for people who are at risk of developing certain diseases. The most common factors increasing the risk of developing lifestyle diseases include:
- sedentary lifestyle, lack of exercise;
- unhealthy diet rich in saturated fats and simple sugars;
- overweight / obesity;
- excessive alcohol consumption;
- smoking cigarettes or other tobacco products.
Premium Preventive Healthcare Package for Men includes as many as 24 tests and examinations, such as:
- COMPLETE BLOOD COUNT – a basic diagnostic test that involves the quantitative and qualitative analysis of red blood cells (erythrocytes), white blood cells (leukocytes) and platelets (thrombocytes); it enables the monitoring of health condition, detection of infections, inflammation and other diseases.
- GLUCOSE plays a key role in the organism as the main source of energy; it is essential for the proper functioning of the brain, nervous system and muscles; measuring blood glucose levels is an important diagnostic test that helps assess the carbohydrate metabolism in the organism; patients who are overweight or have a family history of diabetes should regularly check their blood glucose levels, as they are at greater risk of developing this disease. This test is also recommended for patients experiencing symptoms such as excessive thirst, fatigue, frequent infections, feeling unwell, frequent urination, intense hunger, rapid heartbeat, tremors, drowsiness or double vision.
- LIPID PROFILE – 4 tests: total cholesterol, LDL and HDL cholesterol levels as well as triglycerides – measurement of lipid (fat) concentration in the blood, which determines the risk of cardiovascular diseases. It involves checking levels of total cholesterol, LDL (“bad” cholesterol that contributes to the formation of atherosclerotic plaques in the arteries), HDL (“good” cholesterol) as well as triglycerides. The results of lipid profile tests help diagnose lipid disorders and estimate the risk of atherosclerosis, heart attack, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases. It is recommended primarily for patients who are overweight or obese, suffer from diabetes or hypertension, smokers, as well as those who are physically inactive or follow an unhealthy diet, but also as a preventive measure.
- GGTP (Gamma-glutamyltransferase) – a test aimed to diagnose liver and bile duct disorders. It is a sensitive marker that helps detect alcoholic liver disease, cholestasis and liver cancer.
- Total PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) – a marker detected in the blood that indicates prostate enlargement. Regular testing of total PSA levels is recommended as a screening method for early detection of prostate cancer in men. It is also intended to monitor the health of patients with prostate enlargement.
- TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) is produced by the pituitary gland that regulates the secretion of thyroid hormones (T3 and T4); testing TSH levels in the blood shows how well the thyroid is functioning and detects hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism.
- VITAMIN 25OH-D3 is a metabolite of vitamin D, which is an important regulator of calcium and phosphorus metabolism in the organism. It supports calcium absorption in the intestines, reduces its excretion in urine, improves bone and tooth mineralisation, as well as strengthens immunity. The purpose of this test is to help diagnose metabolic diseases and calcium-phosphorus imbalance. It can also contribute to preventing the development of osteoporosis and other diseases related to vitamin D deficiency.
- AST (aspartate aminotransferase) and ALT (alanine aminotransferase) are liver enzymes, measuring the concentration of which in the blood helps detect and diagnose liver diseases such as hepatitis, steatosis and cirrhosis. They can also be tested regularly as part of preventive healthcare measures.
- URINALISYS – a simple, non-invasive test that provides information about the physical and chemical properties of urine, as well as its sediment. It is one of the basic laboratory tests that can help detect diseases of the kidneys, urinary tract, liver, as well as metabolic disorders.
- URIC ACID is the end product of the metabolism of purines derived from food; measuring uric acid levels can help diagnose kidney problems (it's mainly excreted by the kidneys) and assess the risk of nephrolithiasis (too much of it can lead to the formation of kidney stones). This test is also important in identifying gout (arthritis): high concentrations of uric acid are associated with the formation of crystals in the joints, which cause severe pain.
- CREATININE is a metabolic product, measuring the levels of which in the blood serves to assess kidney functioning.
- CALCIUM is a macroelement that influences many important processes in the organism; it is essential for the formation of bones and teeth, proper muscle functioning and nerve conduction. Calcium concentration in the blood is measured to detect diseases associated with calcium-phosphorus metabolism disorders and to prevent complications resulting from calcium deficiency or excess, such as osteoporosis, kidney stones formation or heart rhythm disorders.
- MAGNESIUM is a mineral that plays an important role in metabolic processes, is essential for the proper functioning of the nervous system and muscles, and is involved in heart muscle contraction. Magnesium deficiency can cause symptoms such as muscle cramps, heart rhythm disorders, fatigue and irritability; testing magnesium levels enables early detection of its deficiency, which can prevent serious health problems.
- VITAMIN B12 is vital for the proper functioning of the nervous system, nucleic acid synthesis and red blood cell production. Untreated vitamin B12 deficiency can lead to anaemia, fatigue, muscle weakness, intestinal problems, nerve damage and mood disorders. Testing vitamin B12 levels enables early diagnosis and treatment of anaemia and certain neurological diseases. It is also useful in assessing nutritional status, especially in vegetarians or vegans and in patients with digestive disorders.
- FT4 (free thyroxine) is a hormone produced by the thyroid gland. Measuring FT4 levels can help assess thyroid function and is a useful indicator in diagnosing hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism.
- FT3 (free triiodothyronine) is a thyroid hormone, the concentration of which is measured to help diagnose thyroid disorders and monitor their treatment.
- TESTOSTERONE is a steroid hormone produced by the testicles. It belongs to the androgens, i.e. substances responsible for male sexual characteristics such as a deep voice, muscle development and facial hair. In later life, it is responsible for the proper production and maturation of sperm. This hormone also affects sex drive. Its concentration is measured in cases of erectile dysfunction, infertility, delayed or premature puberty, as well as hormonal disorders.
- HCV antibodies are proteins produced by the immune system in response to infection with the hepatitis C virus (HCV). Measuring the level of these antibodies is a simple screening test that allows for preliminary determination of whether a patient has been exposed to HCV infection.
- HBS antigen is a specific protein of the hepatitis B virus, a marker of viral hepatitis, the concentration of which in the blood indicates acute or chronic HBV infection.
- HIV antibodies + antigen combo are proteins produced by the organism in response to HIV infection, which become detectable approximately 4-12 weeks after infection. The p24 antigen is detected in the blood earlier than antibodies, i.e. approximately 2-8 weeks after infection. This test enables early diagnosis of HIV infection.
