Adult gynaecologist: qualification for endometriosis surgery

Endometriosis is a chronic disease characterized by acute pain. It is caused by the growth of the endometrium outside the uterine cavity, e.g. in the peritoneal cavity.

Main symptoms of the disease:

•    pain occurring before the menstruation
•    very painful, heavy periods
•    pain during sexual intercourse
•    pain when defecating or urinating
•    problems getting pregnant

At the patient's qualification for laparoscopic endometriosis surgery, 
the gynaecologist determines whether there are any contraindications to the procedure and outlines the scope and course of the surgery. 

During the consultation, the doctor:

•    takes the patient’s medical history;
•    performs a gynaecological examination;
•    may order other examinations, if necessary.
