Root canal treatment — endodontic consultation
An endodontist is a dentist who specialises in root canal treatments. This doctor usually sees patients who suffer from advanced dental problems, often associated with unpleasant symptoms such as pain. An endodontic consultation is a basis for initiating effective treatment which can not only relieve pain, but also save the tooth from extraction. It should not be postponed if you want your smile to last a lifetime.
Why should you schedule an endodontic consultation?
Professional diagnosis of tooth pain and condition
An endodontic consultation helps determine what is happening with the problematic tooth. The doctor will interview you, examine the area of concern, and assess the extent of the disease.
Clear plan for further treatment
After the interview, examination, and X-ray analysis, the specialist will present a root canal treatment plan, helping you make a shared and informed decision about the next steps.
A chance to save the tooth from extraction
The consultation provides an opportunity to begin treatment that not only eliminates pain but also helps preserve the tooth for many years — which is why you shouldn’t delay.
Thorough explanation of your case
The endodontist will present the test results, explain the cause of your symptoms, and propose the best course of action.

An endodontic consultation usually involves 3 stages:
- discussion with the patient,
- dental check-up,
- X-ray diagnostics.
The result is a treatment plan which the doctor presents to the patient in order to decide together how to proceed. A consultation will not involve any treatment procedures.
What is involved in a pre-treatment endodontic consultation?
- An endodontic consultation is dedicated to people who suspect there is something wrong with their tooth or teeth — e.g. if they feel pain or discomfort, or have had a dental check-up and were told to see a specialist to continue the diagnostic process.
- During the consultation the doctor will first ask the patient about their symptoms, and then examine the area in question to be able to determine the next treatment steps, request more tests or confirm the diagnosis.
- o accurately define the patient’s needs, it is necessary to do some diagnostic exams — for example a periapical X-ray. The image obtained will allow the endodontist to see which areas of the tooth are affected, how many canals the tooth has and which areas require treatment.
In the scope of endodontic consultation, the doctor:
- investigate your needs,
- examine your oral health,
- discuss your options and treatment needs,
- if necessary, refer you to additional diagnostic tests,
- present optimal solutions
- The price includes a consultation with an endodontist. Any treatment-related or diagnostic procedures (e.g. X-ray) are charged extra.
Book an endodontic consultation if:
- your tooth aches,
- during a check-up your dentist advised you to consult an endodontist;

- you wish to discuss your endodontic treatment with a doctor.
